Neck Pain & Headache
Negative or bad stress can often cause patients to feel headaches and pain in their upper trapezius muscles, neck and shoulder. Simply, the trapezius are the very large muscles that connect our shoulder blades, collar bones and base of our skulls.
So a combination of neck pain, shoulder pain and headache can occur. Headaches caused by problems in the neck are called neck induced headaches.
Many of these neck induced headaches will be related to problems in the neck muscles, including the upper trapezius muscle.
Patients talk about finding ‘knots’ in the upper trapezius muscles and this can be from stress and poor posture.
